What have you learned from the process of research and creation in your thesis journey?

I am still learning every day when it comes to creating a visual system. Sometimes I get carried away when it comes to designing and forget about the system, but creating the visual guidelines has helped me stay on track.

How has your visual system developed? What works and what needs improvement?

There are still some minor refinements to do when it comes to the type system, like figuring out how certain headers and subheads should be treated. The graphics have developed in a way that I think relates more to technology. The thing that needs improvement is the variety of brushstrokes for the highlighted text. I will have to create more so they are all unique. I would also like to refine the construction of my logo since it has changed this semester.

What about your product? Are there things you would change? Why? Why not?

News magazine: I may change a few photos but overall this product is mostly complete. When it is done, it will be uploaded to issuu.

Convention: The convention still has some pieces that need to be designed, like the motion graphic, but I plan on working on that in the following modules.

Learning Academy: The content is done but the graphics need to be adjusted. I want the graphics to be more purposeful.

Describe the most useful and interesting things you have learned about yourself and the process of research and design in your thesis journey so far.

I still have a lot to learn when it comes to time management. I have also found that user feedback is very helpful as the critiques I have gotten have improved the design greatly.
